Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Life Skills! We are able to make a greater impact in the lives of people with developmental disabilities - including autism - through the support of our volunteers. Our agency offers various volunteer opportunities, and we are glad you've chosen to learn more.

We currently are seeking support in the following areas:

Programs

Friend in Deed: This program provides social support to Life Skills clients. A volunteer is matched with a client who has similar interests, and then together, they engage in various activities and outings of their choosing, such as going to the movies, shopping, eating out, cooking, etc. This opportunity requires a one year commitment and is available year round.

Adopt-A-Home: This program ensures our clients live in quality homes by allowing organizations and individuals to "adopt" a home to make any necessary improvements and/or donate any needed household items. This opportunity is available year round.

Events

Life Skills organizes several major fundraising events each year, such as the Walk Run 'n Roll (May), the Par-Tee Dinner Auction and Tee-it-Up Golf Tournament (July) and the Festival of Trees (Nov), none of which would be possible without the help of volunteers. Tasks leading up to and during these events vary. Life Skills also hosts several smaller family events and other miscellaneous events throughout the year. These opportunities are situational and Life Skills will reach out to volunteers as needed.

Work in Our Office

We occasionally need clerical support with accounting, fundraising and human resources tasks at our business offices. These opportunities are perfect if your schedule varies or if you want to make a few quick commitments to help out. Life Skills will reach out to this pool of volunteer contacts as needed.

To become a Life Skills volunteer, please complete an application and send it by email to emily.gillardi@lifeskills-mo.org, by fax to 314-394-4007 or by mail to:
